The competition was a round robin followed by semi-finals and a final. All games consisted on two Ends followed by a tie breaker End if needed.

Jamie’s campaign began with a strong 2-0 win over his opponent securing both Ends. His second game was a narrow defeat after winning one End, but then losing the second by 2 points to make the score 2-1 in his opponents favour. His third match seen him compete against one of Scotland’s top young people in boccia which was a tough lose. Jamie’s final game was a masterpiece were he executed a push off shot to move his opponents ball out the scoring area and a roll on top shot to land his ball so it was touching the Jack ending the game 2-1 to Jamie.

Caroline had the most opponents in her group meaning she had five games. Her first two games seen her secure points in the first End of each match, but unfortunately her opponents gained more points in their Ends making the final scores 3-2 and 4-1 to her opponents. It was in her fourth game that Caroline was able to settle into the match and pulled off an amazing 6-0 win against her opponent followed by a final win in her last game.

Alfie and Brynn had two of the toughest groups in the competition, competing against Scottish and Regional players. Brynn’s games were all close, with Brynn just losing out by millimetres as both players landed their balls almost touching the Jack. Brynn played a really skilled and strategic games making sure every opponent had to fight for their win. Alfie had a similar experience with all his games being decided by a tie breaker End. Alfie was very calm under the pressure of such close games.

All players unfortunately missed out on progressing out of the group stages, but they should be proud of their performances. All the players would like to thank NorthLink for sponsoring the team.
