Staff Training

Two of our staff recently took part in training for their clubs - Out to Play Early Years CPD by Eco Drama.   Catriona from the Holiday Club and Ann from Peerie Stars were learning about how to integrate arts-based outdoor learning and play into the clubs, how to re-imagine their venues into a place of adventurous learning and how to utilise creative learning methods such as drama, nature-based storytelling and imaginative play in order to engage young children with the natural world.

Ann said that “It was so good! I was unsure going into it as I’m not the most dramatic, but I really enjoyed it.   They presented it in a way that it didn’t seem you were doing a one person play, they gave useful, practical & magical ways to share stories outside in an interactive way for bairns, it doesn’t seem daunting at all, but fun! Really looking forward to planning & delivering a session with Peerie Stars in the spring”.

Catriona from Holiday Club fed back that she “found it interesting and took away some of the ideas that we might be able to use at Voxter or Michaelswood in the summer”.
