Resumption of Clubs

Resumption of Clubs

With the return of schools and regulated early learning and childcare this week we are receiving queries about when our clubs for children and young people will resume.Indoor activities for children and young people which are not overseen by a regulator cannot start again until agreed guidance from the Scottish Government is in place. Unfortunately, back to school does not mean back to normality and for now, ensuring that the transition back to school is successful is the Scottish Government's top priority. For now, activities for children and young people under the age of 18 has to continue online or outdoors in line with existing Scottish Government guidance. The exception to this is our Holiday Club, as it is regulated by the Care Inspectorate. We know that our groups and clubs are of huge value to children, young people and families across Shetland so we hope to get them open as soon as is deemed appropriate. We will provide further information about timing, with additional guidance, when we can. We will also provide a further update on our clubs and groups for adults as soon as we get more information from our venue and transport providers. Since the beginning of lockdown we have been providing alternative support to our current members and their families, and we will continue to do this for as long as is required. Thanks for your understanding and continued support.
